With the standard engine, you get an EPA-estimated 30 MPG combined, while the hybrid engine provides an amazing EPA-estimated 40 MPG combined. No matter which engine you choose, you get a fantastic driving experience that keeps you on the road longer between stops for gas, with available Real Time All-Wheel Drive (AWD) for superior control behind the wheel.

  It can be easy to think that a compact crossover doesn't need much power due to its small size. While that might technically be true, the result of that kind of thinking is a meager compact car that can run fine but isn't particularly fun to drive. Thankfully, Honda does not approach vehicle design or engineering this way, so the 2024 CR-V has two terrific engines on offer designed to provide you with a great time on the road.

  The standard engine on the 2024 Honda CR-V is a 1.5L Turbocharged I-4 that provides you with 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque, which comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to provide you with a smooth and responsive driving experience. If you are interested in getting even more power in your compact crossover, then there is an available 2.0L I-4 Hybrid engine that boosts that power up to 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque between the engine and the battery-powered motor. This option also comes with a CVT, plus both engines are available with Honda's Real Time AWD for fantastic traction and performance in rough weather or on dirt roads—both not uncommon here in Rochester.

  These engines are incredibly efficient to keep your gas costs low and help you stay on the road longer between stops. The standard engine gets an EPA-estimated 28 MPG in the city, 34 MPG on the highway, and 30 MPG of combined fuel economy. As you would expect from a hybrid engine, the available green upgrade gets an astounding EPA-estimated 43 MPG in the city, 36 MPG on the highway, and 40 MPG of combined fuel economy, which is perfect for getting around the city without having to worry too much about gas.

The 2024 Honda CR-V has you covered with a surprisingly spacious interior, including nearly 40 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume and more than 76 cu.ft. of total cargo space inside when the backseat is folded down.

  Along with all this space inside to utilize, you also get fantastic comfort and technology features designed to make your drive easier. The trim you choose will impact the kinds of features you get, of course, but even the starting Honda CR-V model comes with automatic climate control, push-button start, cruise control, and illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls so you can keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. You get adjustable front seats, along with a four-speaker sound system, a 7.0-inch infotainment display, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster screen, and speed-sensitive volume compensation—all standard.

  Looking at the EX-L trim—one of the pinnacle options for the CR-V—you'll find a number of upgrades to make your driving experience even nicer, such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped shift knob, and an automatic-dimming rearview mirror.
