Ever since it was introduced to the US market in 1978, the Honda Accord has remained a dependable member of the Honda lineup. This is true for a number of reasons. It is affordable, gives drivers great fuel economy, and it is an incredibly safe vehicle. However, Honda took this package to another level when it introduced the Accord Hybrid in 2005. This delivered the same things drivers had come to know and love about the Accord but with even better fuel economy than ever before. This is definitely the case with the 2025 Accord Hybrid, the most advanced model yet in the 47-year history of this illustrious sedan.

The place to go to find a 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid is right here at Ralph Honda. We are an authorized Honda dealership, offering drivers like you the full lineup of great new models from this brand. With the Accord Hybrid, you get four great trim levels to choose from. This includes the Sport Hybrid, EX-L Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid. Whichever trim you choose, you will get an exceptional midsize sedan with fuel economy that will save you real money at the pump. In fact, the 2025 Accord Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 48 MPG combined, including 51 MPG in the city.[a] This is the type of fuel economy numbers that should make any commuter or family driver sit up and take notice. When you factor in all of the passenger safety features, you can see how the Accord Hybrid is a great sedan for so many different drivers.

Accord Hybrid Gets Accolades for Passenger Safety

Each year, the government National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conduct a series of crash and safety tests on most passenger vehicles sold in America. The results are then published by the NHTSA and IIHS, with each naming the safest models that have been tested. While the NHTSA uses a five-star rating system, with five being the highest rating, the IIHS names the safest models that meet its most stringent criteria.

The NHTSA recently published the results on the 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid, and the scores are impressive. The Accord Hybrid received a five-star rating for every aspect of the tests.[b] This means it got five stars for frontal crash, side crash, and rollover testing. This is the highest rating that any vehicle can receive from the NHTSA.

The IIHS was similarly impressed with the Accord Hybrid. Although ratings for the 2025 model aren’t out yet, they should mirror the 2024 model, which was named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS, the organization’s highest rating.[c] This was based in part on all of the standard safety and active driver assistance features that come on the Accord Hybrid.

Standard Passive Features to Keep Everyone Safe and Secure

Honda has equipped every trim of the 2025 Accord Hybrid with a set of passive safety features to shield you and your passengers in the event of a collision. The driver and front passenger have front airbags, side airbags, and knee airbags. This is vital to protect you from injury in the event of a front-end collision, as the driver and front passenger will often receive the brunt of the crash. There are also side airbags to protect the rear seat passengers in the back of your Accord Hybrid if you are involved in a t-bone accident. Finally, Honda has given the Accord Hybrid side curtain airbags with a sensor that deploys them to protect you and all of your passengers if you are involved in a rollover accident.

There are also some electronic systems in your Accord Hybrid that work behind the scenes to help keep you safe. Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control works to provide control while accelerating, cornering, and braking, especially in inclement weather. The anti-lock braking system prevents the wheels from locking up and causing you to skid by automatically pumping the brakes under hard braking. Finally, the Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Dynamic Guidelines on the Accord Hybrid lets you see behind your vehicle when you are in reverse. Each of these systems improves the safety of the Accord Hybrid so you can avoid getting into accidents.

With the introduction of electrification comes new safety considerations. While the gas engine uses gasoline, the electric motors are powered by a 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Honda locates this battery in the vehicle’s lower frame, which not only shields it from damage but also doesn’t take away from the passenger and cargo space in the vehicle. These are important considerations when designing an electrified vehicle and are a step up from older hybrid designs, which often placed the high-voltage battery in the trunk or passenger compartment.

Driver Assistance Systems to Help You Avoid Collisions

In addition to its passive safety features, the 2025 Accord Hybrid has a comprehensive suite of active driver assistance features. Known as the Honda Sensing Technologies, this suite of features helps you avoid accidents in many different ways.

If the vehicle in front of you stops short, the Forward Collision Warning will sound, giving you the opportunity to take evasive action. This will also engage the Collision Mitigation Braking System, with the emergency brakes on your Accord Hybrid helping to bring you to a safe stop.
One of the most common causes of highway accidents happens when you change lanes. Sometimes, you don’t see another vehicle riding in your blind spot. When you make your move, you may clip the other car, causing a bad collision. The standard Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor on the 2025 Accord Hybrid will let you know when it is safe to change lanes when you are on the highway. It will also let you know about traffic passing behind you when you are backing up.

Another problem often occurs from driver fatigue or distraction. We take our eyes off the road for just a moment, whether to look at directions or to adjust the infotainment system, only to find that our vehicle has begun to drift into an adjacent lane. When this happens on the Accord Hybrid, the Lane Departure Warning will sound, so you are aware that you have drifted. At the same time, the Road Departure Mitigation System will use slight steering adjustments to get you back safely in your lane. There is also a Lane Keeping Assist System, which will help you stay centered in your lane when driving at highway speeds.

The Accord Hybrid also has Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow. This acts like standard cruise control but with a few helpful improvements. Unlike standard cruise control, this feature will adjust your Accord Hybrid’s speed if a slower-moving vehicle gets into your lane or if you encounter slower traffic. Instead of exiting the cruise control system, you can remain in the Adaptive Cruise Control, which adjusts your speed to match the traffic in front of you. Once traffic speeds back up, the system will go back up to the speed you originally set. This will help you reduce driver fatigue on long trips. If you get into a traffic jam, the standard Traffic Jam Assist on the Accord Hybrid will maintain a safe stopping distance behind the vehicle in front of you, reducing the possibility of a collision.
